DANCE IN A DAY… BLUES
Join us for an exciting introduction to Blues Dancing- perfect for anyone with little or no dance experience. In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamental movement characteristics that make Blues dancing unique, explore the rich musicality, and gain the confidence to hit the social dance floor in just one day!
What we’ll be covering:
Blues Dance Fundamentals:
Get to grips with the building blocks of Blues dance! We’ll work on essential rhythms, posture, connection, and that all-important Blues attitude. By the end of the class, you’ll be moving with effortless style and be able to adapt to a broad range of Blues music.
Expand Your Vocabulary:
Now that you’re grooving with confidence, it’s time to add some flair! We’ll introduce some classic moves to bring texture and personality to your dance.
Play and Express Yourself:
Blues is a fun and creative dance. We’ll give you tools to explore musicality, improvisation, and playful interaction, ensuring you leave the workshop not just dancing, but truly feeling the music.
Lead or Follow?
This is a partnered dance so you will need to sign up as either a lead or a follow. We don’t mind which role you do! The day is a great way to meet some fun people as we rotate you around during the sessions. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions about these roles.
