Join Ruth and Rich for a lesson or two in Swing Dancing. What is Swing Dancing? It’s a collection of dances from the 1920s-1940s including Lindy hop and Charleston. Read more about it here.

Please note that the venue capacity is limited so please arrive early to be sure of a spot!

Classes

Level 1 – Absolute beginners class | 7.00pm – 8.00pm
These classes are for new dancers and there is no experience required. We go over the basics every week and then throw in some new moves to get you dancing in no time. This class is drop-in, so you don’t need to book in advance and you don’t need to bring a partner.

Social Dance Break
In between classes we’ll pop on a song or two before we get started with the next class. So have a little social dance in that time.

Level 2 – Intermediate class | 8.15pm – 9.15pm
Interested in taking it that step further? For those with some experience this class will take you to the next level. We will focus on technique, as well as moves, to make you better dancers. (If you were comfortable in the first level 1 class, then we encourage you to stick around too. This class will usually build from the footwork, moves and technique learnt in the Level 1 class from the same evening).

Mini Social
It’s Disco Ball time! After class we are super lucky at the Langham Club as we can use the dance floor. We dim the lights, pop on the the disco ball,  grab a drink from the cheapest bar we know of in these neck of the woods, and have dance and a chin-wag! (As long as you have taken at least one class).

Level 2/3 – Workshops | 9.30pm – 10.30pm – Coming soon!

We are planning some additional workshops. These will be pre-booked and will run in 3 or 4 week blocks, so we can build on the content each week. We’ll be running swing out workshops, teaching routines and more! Check back here soon!
