Profile

Sarah Ward

Sarah's dancing career started at the tender age of 3 when she commenced ballet classes. After that she studied many forms of dance and was a professional dancer for four years.

Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts and her claim to fame is having gone to University with Hugh Jackman!

After traveling for some time, Sarah returned to Perth, Western Australia and in 2001 she found Lindy Hop and began a new love affair with swing dancing. Sarah then moved from a thriving swing dance scene in Perth, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory where there was none. Therefore she co-founded Jumptown! ACT Swing Dance Society in 2003.

After making sure Jumptown was up and running smoothly Sarah returned to her travels and moved to London in 2005. Since then Sarah has been a regular of the London Swing Scene, having organised workshops, won several competitions and been part of the London Lindy Exchange committee. Sarah continues to travel regularly in Europe to attend swing events and workshops.

As our most experienced London teacher Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her classes. She is warm and has great energy and enthusiasm. She aims to making her own dancing and yours as easy and fun as possible and she's not afraid to be more than a little bit silly in class.
