8th March, 2010.

A big welcome to the new dancers just added to our group newsletter. Swing Patrol London had it’s largest week ever last week and swing dancing still dreams of rivalling the size of Salsa in London. Thanks so much to you all as our blue registration forms say you are bringing your friends and we thought that needed acknowledging! The French Swing Pit was "off the chart" and so cool to see so many of our new dancers getting out there and giving it a go.

Please note the Traffic Jam ( VIbe Intermediate class) has been deferred and won't be on this week. Refer diary note.

The London Swing Festival is looming. The Saturday night Ball is where we all dress up and step out. Start thinking of what you will wear!

This week we got the 2010 Croydon classes off to a flying start with huge and enthusiastic beginners' class - who were very good at the Charleston we threw at them!  Intermediates' also did really well with a mixture of
Charleston styles and moves - with more emphasis on technique and leading/following.

This week we will be back with more new Charleston for the beginners' - as we will for the next 3 weeks.  As always, no experience is assumed or required, nor is a partner - just turn up and dance!
Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday at 7!   Alan & Grace

16. Email of the week
From the organiser of the Headway East London Dance Marathon

Dear Ashleigh, Fiona and Scott,
I wanted to thank you so much for taking part in the Headway East London Dance Marathon. Everyone agreed that one of the highlights on the night was Swing Patrol. It was absolutely amazing to see everyone take to the steps and learn the routine so fast and then perform it on the dance-off.
Thank you to Ashleigh and the rest of the team for doing this session. On the night we raised £15k (way above what we thought we'd be able to raise).
Please check
HERE: If you would like copies of the pictures to put on your website please let me know and I will send them electronically. We are happy for you to further publicise this in your newsletter. Thank you so much for helping us at the Dance Marathon.
Many thanks
Sandra M
