6 Beat and a Slingshot!

Go Team!

Well beginners, we've started our journey into 6-beat swing, and you were able to pick up the rhythm, the footwork, getting from closed to open stance and back again. Not only that, but we took you through three different passbys and even had time to put in a mini-dip at the end! Incredible progress in just one lesson! Great to see everyone smiling and having a great time learning all the news steps, and we'll be continuing on with some more groovy 6-beat moves next week. We covered so much ground on Wednesday, so hit up the YouTube for a refresher: Beginners Video

Straight after that we moved into our intermediate class, and it was so cool that all our beginners stuck around to give it a shot! That's great stuff to see everyone really enthusiastic about pushing their dancing as far as they can! After getting through the whole shim sham as a warmup (Well done all! We made it!) we then gave you some more pieces to think about with your 8-beat Lindy, showing you the throwback, the slingshot jump and a really slick slide into closed for the leads! Everyone picked it up well and I can wait to see some of you throw this out on the social dance floor (hopefully at our French Swingpit!). Here's a link to keep your memory alive: Intermediates Video

We'll be in and around Greenwich on Sunday 7th before the French swingpit, throwing flyers at anyone we see and filling the local shops with our marketing merchandise. It's going to be a great day out, so pop down if you want, we'll be around the Cutty Sark from midday for a couple of hours. Looking forward to seeing a bunch of new faces this Wednesday at the Trafalgar!

Have a great week,

~~ Tanya & James ~~
